Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Maine-based bank

This key member of the executive team is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities for the organization, including direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, and regulatory internal controls.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensures credibility of the Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  2. Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization and provides effective leadership for this group.
  3. Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  4. Assists the CEO and other members of the SLT with strategic direction, operational and budgetary matters relating to the overall facilities function of the bank.
  5. Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  6. Manages processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
  7. Monitors key financial performance indicators and provides strategic recommendations to the CEO, Executive team, and Board of Directors
  8. Directs and oversees the management of the bank’s investment portfolio.
  9. Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  10. Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with FDIC, GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  11. Oversees the Bank’s Interest Rate Risk, liquidity, capital adequacy, and balance sheet management process.
  12. Manages the Bank’s various retirement and deferred compensation plans.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required.
  • 10 years or more of experience in financial/accounting leadership role.
  • Experience in balance sheet, interest rate risk and portfolio management.
